Potts Say's it all........ Should have been little Connie who won the honour to sing in front of the Queen. What a FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!! The judges knew who they wanted to win and would win, there was noway they would be beat on their decision. Paul Potts should be made to explain to the voting British public about what, has been said in the papers over the last few day, about him taking part in other competitions and winning. Also he should come clean about being coached professionally as a Opera singer. POTTS is a RINGER as far as i can see. I'm sure there's plenty of other members of the British public who feel cheated and the same sickness as i feel.
Speaking to The UK Observer, the singer denied the allegations. Said Potts: 'I have never worked as a professional singer. I have poured everything I could earn into a few lessons, but everyone taking part in this television show has had some training,' he said yesterday.
'My four performances with Bath Opera a few years back were all amateur. I am angry about this because I have never earned anything, although I did get petrol expenses a couple of times.' His story is confirmed this weekend by the singing teacher who gave him lessons until Potts was forced to give up in 2003 because of illness. Potts adds that he has always been open about a trip to Italy to improve his voice. He had saved up to sing for Luciano Pavarotti in a masterclass, but had no tuition from the great tenor.
Be proud of Paul! He has turned 'Britain's got talent' into 'Hey world, Britain's got talent'. All the the finalists will have loads of opportunities because of the show. None of them have lost because of Paul Potts winning.
O boo hoo Davy, get over it!! The fact is the bloke can sing,so what if he had coaching ,i'm sure little Connie did also, and no doubt i'm sure her time will come also to capture the lime light.
I don't even like opera but this Bloke somehow seems to hit a nail. good on him i say.....
From an American here: I can honestly say that Britain is a far more open-minded country than the USA--Paul and his exquisite voice would not likely have won here in the states because a lot of people don't appreciate opera. Kudos to the millions who participated in the show and voting! Paul Potts will make an excellent representative of the show and hopefully will get his chance to also sing for Pavoratti as he wants. I only wish that such talent would also spring from the U.S. but it's unlikely with the lack of attention span of too many!
I saw a piece about Paul on The Today Show this morning and was blown away. I had to search him online and see and read more. He is phenomenal and while I'm sure that a little six year old is cute and talented, I'm certain there is no way she can even be in the same category as Paul and for anyone to suggest that is just ignorant, I'm sorry.
Congratulation Paul Potts, you are special and I hope those bullies from your school years are watching you know. What goes around comes around! You are here to stay!
Way to go Paul Potts! I heard the first Youtube video just yesterday and it was amazing. Every time I listen to that I cry. I am so pleased that he won and many of the people I know here in the US are as well. In fact, a lampwork forum that I belong to is thrilled that he won. Knock 'em off their feet, Paul!
Everyone loves and needs a hero, Paul has become a hero to many, he stood and took his rightful place in life, yeh he took a lot of knocks along the way, but he never gave up even when it all seem so futile and pointless and he came thro.
Well done Paul, now u know why u were despised and mistreated by others, they were jealous of you, they were insecure and didnt want you to succeed!!
Where are the ones who bullied you, have they achieved greatness like you, some people are born great, others have greatness thrust upon them.
I pray you will go from strength to strength and be a role model for all those who think they are inconsequential, of no importance and have nothing to offer the world, prove them wrong and silence the critics you will face as you go thro the stages of stardom and one more thing, grow in grace and wisdom and never forget your roots, it will keep u sane for the rest of your life.
God bless
Parcel
I have a few things to say to 'those' people that claim Mr Paul Potts as a ringer... I pitty you...the tipe of people that spread lyes...MOST of the contestans on that show WERE PROFESSIONALS earning money...like the Mary Poppins act...350pounds per show...or the Monkey act...HOW COME YOU PEOPLE say nothing of that??? or are outraged????
In my professional capacity, I am working in the National Opera House in portugal, and al tho i will not identify myself I can tell you this:
This man has a gift!!! all of us in the board have watched the clips...and we wept...you can see this gentleman changing into Pure emotion as he starts to sing, and back to himself when he finishes...his small vocal 'imperfections' are more then compensated by the emotion that he is able to impart to the aria...true beauty...so rare this days.
Caruso was like that...Maria Callas also had vocal imperfections, but the emotion they put into song could take listeners to that 'special place'.
Bravissimo Mr Paul Potts.
To you Pseudo critics and ney sayers: get a life! take pitty on yourselves...
I believe a star is born.
