I completely agree. I was a huge fan of Michael (love his 'Bohemian Rhapsody) and Carly (I felt for her background story). However, although I'm sad to see Michael go, both haven't quite been consistent. Michael I think peaked at 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and didn't top that. Brooke and David Archuletta are alright. I like Brooke's 'Let it be.' As for David A. - well there was one song that made me go wow, but I don't remember it, I guess it wasn't that memorable. After last night's show, I'm a huge fan of David Cook. I'm rooting for him now. He's consistently making the songs his own and standing out. I absolutely love his version of Mariah's song last night. My prediction is that it'll be the Davids battling it out in the finales. As for me, David Cook's my idol.
David Archuleta is boring. He can sing good but that doesn't make him a star. The only music he could make is Gospel music. How successful is gospel music these days? Not successful at all. Everytime he comes on stage he puts me to sleep. You say that he appeals to all viewers of all ages. The only reason he is still on the show is because all of the younger teenage girls are voting for him. David Cook is original. He stands out as a performer, and he takes risks. The risks pay off too. He will be selling more records than David A. anyday.
I did think that David Cook won the night; however, I thought Kristy Lee was second best and did not get all the credit she deserved. I also thought Syesha was underrated. David Archuleta was fourth in my book...the other three were bunched up after that.
David Cook is brilliant. He deserves to win and will.
I think that David Cook is the most talented and original of the group. David Archuleta has an amazing voice but is limited in the type of music that he chooses and I don't think that's what the American Idol should represent. I think that Jason Castro should have been out a while ago, he doesn't have much of a voice.
I still don't get the judge's constant approval of Jason or Brooke.
Brooke is still too mouthy. Kristy is definitely getting better all the time, but I think it will still be down to the two David's. David A. has a beautiful voice, and I think he could do smooth love ballads, and David C. is definitely a rocker. They just have to keep choosing the songs that would have the greatest selling appeal. It doesn't matter how good the voice is if they don't do this!
It still amazes that the people that criticizes Archuleta of being 'boring' are the same ones that applaud D. Cook of being so original and daring... C'mon, how difficult is to turn a song in a depressing emo version and scream at the end of it?? let's call a spade a spade... archuleta can be young and all, but he can sing... maybe he should teach D. cook to do it, once in a while
David Cook sang a highly unlikely song from Mariah's book and gave it his own signature. Granting, there were a few pitchy notes singing it for the first time, what he did took a lot of courage. I'm surprised he even sang it THAT well.
At this point of the competition, he could have played it 'safe' and still have sailed on to the next round. But he didn't. He took the plunge and trusted his artistic abilities. He did the same when he sang 'Billy Jean'.
Since the start of the season, I picked David Cook as the most gifted artist out of the whole lot of candidates. If there were tears in his eyes, I can very well understand. He placed himself on the line! He could have died out of the competition singing that song--his way. Even Mariah was worried and anxious to see how he was going to make it happen.
Try risking something that could completely take away what 'uniquely' identifies you. Many people don't have the guts to even get that close. I think you'll have a much greater appreciation for this ARTIST.
How in the world can you say that David C. won the show. He is totally screechy, off key and totally arogant. He is so full of himself and now crying on stage along with it. Get rid of him - do you want a screamer for your American Idol. David A. appeals to everyone. Go David A.

David Cook---No way a winner. He is screechy, off key at times and arrogant. Is he now using crying for his cover now? He will soon be forgotten.
David Archuleta will be the winner. He appeals to all ages of viewers. He has the whole package---talent, humility, fresh and humble. It will be great to see him pursue his career with a decent conduct and h humility. His family has every right to be so proud of him. I believe his father's involvement in his performing, selection of songs and attitude are a big plus.
